Hollingworth Lake Camp and Hike - 11/09/2011
On Friday 5 August the Scout Section camped at Hollingworth Lake. The evening was pleasant so we had a stroll around the lake and fish and chips for supper before returning to our tents.
On Saturday the weather was not so pleasant! We had to drop the tents in the pouring rain and load all our soaking wet kit into the landrover. It didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon so we set off on our walk over the moors to Marsden. The rain lashed down and everyone was drenched within minutes of setting off. Nobody complained though as we trudged over the hills to Piethorn Reservoir. Luckilly it picked up a bit at lunch time - so we ate our sandwiches in the drizzle. We then continued over the moors and dropped down towards Marsden. By the time we finished at Tunnel End the sun was almost shining (almost!).
Another night and another hike towards the progressive staged activity badges.
