Scarecrow Festival - 26/07/2011
On Saturday 12 June we held our first Scarecrow Festival in Golcar. We had over 30 entries around the village which formed a trail for people to follow. We also had lots of scarecrows at HQ – including 20 Scout scarecrows on camp.
Unfortunately the weather was poor so we didn’t have a lot of people on the trail – but if you missed out then at least you can see them in our photo gallery on the website.
The winning scarecrows were –
Funniest – The one in the bikini hanging from the barn at Claywell.
Scariest – Frankenstein down Leymoor Road.
Best Effort – The old couple on Banks Avenue.
This is definitely an event that we can build on next year.
