Eco Challenge - Jakob E

To gain this award we had to complete:

  • The green campsite trail.
  • The green chalet trail.
  • The eco quiz.
  • The reduce, re-use and recycle activity.
  • These activities helped us to get to know the campsite and chalet area - and they were good fun!

Disco - Harry J

Scout Disco

We were buzzing when we went to the disco. As soon as we went in we hit the dance floor - it was amazing!

World Scout Workshop - Abbie K

This was a huge board game with questions and challenges. we were in two teams - 'watch' and 'whistle'. The team who managed to eat a whole Toblerone first were the first to go on the game. This was a really enjoyable activity.

Geocaching - Lucas E

Geocaching

There are two geocaches near Kandersteg camp centre and we found both of them. at the first cache there were loads of lizards - but we managed to get the cache. In the afternoon we found a third cache down by the railway station.

Swimming - George W

The changing rooms were very cramped but I managed to get ready first and get into the chute from the changing rooms to the pool - it was FREEZING! The diving boards were really high - I shut my eyes and jumped - Splash! There was also a slide, a whirlpool and a some giant inflatable rings.

Glacier Talk - Danny L

Glacier

On Thursday evening we had a very informative talk on glaciers, alps and avalanches. They told us safety information and equipment needed when out walking.

Interlaken - Daniel N

Interlaken

We had our first taste of Swiss trains today - from Kandersteg to Interlaken, changing at Spiez. One of the trains was a double decker. we had time to shop in Interlaken and we also had lunch. This was a good day for buying presents for our families.

Niesen - Macinley B

4th Golcar at Niesen

We got off the train at Mulenan and got on to the funicular. It was really steep and we had to change part way up into another carriage. The views at the top were fantastic and we took loads of photos.

Campfire - Becky H

Campfire

On Friday night there was a massive campfire with scouts from all over the world. Each group had to sing a song - we did our 'why don't you become a Scout' song and everyone clapped. I had an awsome time and it was the best campfire I've ever been to.
