Cubs Hike Around Golcar - 27/07/2010
The Cub section decided to have our own hike around the Golcar area on Monday night. Bagheera planed a route for our faithful bunch and we left HQ at 6.45. We quickly made it passed the Colne valley Museum. One of the young leaders didn’t know this part of Golcar existed! We started to climb up hill back towards Swallow Lane and some rumblings about a trip to the Golcar Lilly started to surface, these were soon quashed as we were lead uphill towards Scape!
We then turned left and head towards the Golcar Lilly and past it down towards Heath House Mill. After a quick section of road on Share Hill we then had to walk through peoples gardens! No we weren’t lost it is a public right of way, so Bagheera informs us.
Now the hard work started as we climbed back up towards Golcar. A few moans of are we there yet surfaced but we kept walking, and soon we were back at HQ rather tired and warm, but at least the weather had held off.
