Environment Partnership Award - 22/06/2010

On Sunday 13 June we held our Environment Partnership Award event. All Sections of the Group were involved – over 60 young people, twelve Leaders and several parents who came along to help.
We met at HQ and divided into teams. Two teams set off to do litter picking and two to clear the ginnels on the recently formed Golcar Ginnel Trail. The last team stayed at HQ and made bird and bat boxes.
It was a nice sunny morning so everyone met back at HQ at 11:00am for refreshments, before swapping over tasks and setting off again.
Overall we collected 10 bags of litter and 10 bags of weeds/clippings. We also completed 8 bird boxes and made a start on a further 4 bird boxes and 12 bat boxes – these will be completed at Scouts over the next few weeks.
It was a very successful event – thanks to everyone who turned up.
NOTE: The Ginnel Trail was formed by the Golcar Lily Day Environment Group – for more information leaflets/maps are available from the Library.
