Summer camp Day 4 - 18/08/2009
Today we visited Beamish open air museum. Beamish shows the working and living conditions of northern people in two key eras of the regions history 1820s and 1913.
It was really busy and the queues were very long but luckily Soo had prebooked our tickets so we could jump the queue which really impressed the locals NOT.
The museum boasts an impressive Victorian town with an old fashioned sweet shop where the Scouts bought lots of traditional sweets.
A poster in the Beamish board school where the teacher shouted at Matthew for getting in his way revealed Colonel Baden Powell during the siege of Mafeking in the Boer War.
We traveled around Beamish on a really cool old fashioned bus and tram obviously not at the same time.
We asked Bradley aged 6 what he liked at Beamish he replied amp;quot;tramamp;quot;.
