Golcar Scarecrow Festival

21 July was our second scarecrow festival – this year with a ‘royalty’ theme. Entries were much lower than last year so the scout group made a number of extra scarecrows to make up the trail.

Scarecrows on the route included: Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Charles I, Victoria, Harold, Zoflora – Queen of Clean, Richard I, Richard III, William and Kate (in a boat!) and the Queen of Hearts.

Over 230 people took part on the scarecrow trail – with a short route and a long route on offer.

The Scout and Community Centre grounds were decorated with mini beaver scarecrows and the scouts had set up the Queens Coronation with their scarecrows.

Winners on the day were – William and Kate in the boat (best scarecrow), Team Awesome (short route) and My Bike Works (long route).
