4th Golcar Scouts and Explorers enjoyed the trop of a lifetime during the 10 days spent in Switzerland! Each Scout has wrote an article for this newsletter, so please enoy reading the adventures of 4th Golcar in Kandersteg, Switzerland!
During May 2009, Craig, Soo, Ben and Dan made their way to Kandersteg to recky a trip for the possibility of taking 4th Golcar. After looking at Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) and the surrounding areas it was decided that this trip would, without doubt go ahead! And so, 15 months of planning, preparations and fundraising took place, After countless bag packs, numerous craft fairs and stalls, and a whole variety of fundraising events, we did it! And raised a magnificent amount of money that would let us take part in this once in a lifetime trip!
A lot of work happened behind the scenes with leaders actively, planning the event and making sure that the event would run smoothly!
Kandersteg International Scout Centre (Or KISC for short) is a huge Scout centre, that hosts thousands of Scouts each week during the summer. Founded in 1923, the centre has grown and developed into a modern Scouting centre, with activities that would suit any Scout!
This was truly a fantastic trip, and one that will never be forgotten!
